The 2024 AASM Sleep Medicine Compensation Survey is the largest national survey focused on salary and compensation trends in the field of sleep medicine. The Executive Summary is available as a member benefit, and the full report can be purchased through the AASM Store.
To ensure impartiality and confidentiality, the AASM partnered with ECG Management Consultants, an independent third-party organization, to conduct the survey and analyze the results. ECG also administered the 2018 compensation survey.
The goals of the survey include:
- Creating a comprehensive, de-identified compensation and production dataset for sleep medicine professionals
- Equipping AASM members with data-driven tools to evaluate factors that affect compensation
- Supporting informed decision-making about provider compensation, benefits, incentives, and opportunities in comparison to national benchmarks
The data reflect compensation and clinical activity from the 12-month period ending Dec. 31, 2023. Results are based on responses from 2,089 members, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and sleep technologists. Physician benchmarks are based on data from 697 physicians actively treating sleep patients.
Only summary statistics are reported to preserve confidentiality. ECG is the only party with access to the raw data.
The survey is now offered as a subscription, with ongoing market updates throughout the year. AASM members can view the Executive Summary on the My Benefits page as part of their member benefits. To explore the full dataset, including the complete report and interactive dashboard, a paid subscription is required.
With detailed information on current salary trends, productivity benchmarks and career opportunities, the full report is a valuable resource to help you make strategic career decisions powered by industry-specific data.
